This Lexus compatible 4-button smart key housing with straight key blade with notch in center is ideal to replace your damaged or defective smart key. The smart key is suitable for Lexus ES300h, Lexus ES350 and Lexus ES350h, among others.

No that is not necessary, you can have a new functioning smart key without any technical knowledge.
What do you need to do?
Step 1. Open your existing smart key housing, remove the electronics and insert them into the new smart key housing. Close the housing.
Step 2. Transfer the key blade (the part that goes into your ignition) to the new smart key. You can also choose to have the key sharpened (copied) by a locksmith.
Step 3. That's all, you now have a properly working smart key again.
