Description
Ford compatible ignition key with 4D60 transponder to replace your damaged or defective ignition key. Also suitable to make a copy of your key so you can have an (extra) spare key. The ignition key with transponder is among others suitable for Ford Fiesta, Ford Fusion, Ford Transit, Ford Flex, Ford Focus, Ford Escort, Ford Ka, Ford Puma, Ford Scorpio, Ford Cougar and Ford Taurus.
How do I replace the ignition key with transponder?
You can have a functioning ignition key again without technical knowledge.
What do you need to do?
Choose between replacing your damaged/defective key or an (extra) spare key, see below.
To replace your damaged or defective ignition key with transponder
Step 1. Open your existing ignition key, remove the transponder/immobilizer and put it over the new ignition key. Close the housing.
Step 2. Have the key blade (the part that goes into your ignition switch) sharpened (copied):
(a.) We can take care of this for you. You can read how this works on the "car key sharpening" page.
b.) Or have the key sharpened by a locksmith.
Step 3. That's all, you now have a working ignition key again.
An (extra) spare key
Step 1. Take your original key and the new key with you to the locksmith/chop shop.
Step 2. Have them copy the immobilizer/transponder. The immobilizer allows you to start your car.
Step 3. Have the key blade (the part that goes into your ignition switch) sharpened (copied):

b.) Or have the key sharpened by a locksmith.
Step 4. That's all, you now have an (extra) spare key.
