No, that’s not necessary—you can have a fully functional key housing again without any technical knowledge.
What do you need to do?
- Step 1. Open your existing key, remove the electronics and immobilizer, and place them in the new folding key housing.
- Step 2. Transfer the straight key blade with the side notch to the new housing, or have it cut (duplicated) by a locksmith. Close the housing.
- Step 3. That’s it—you now have a fully functional key housing.
