Is technical knowledge necessary?
No that is not necessary, you can have a properly working clap key again without technical knowledge by transferring your existing electronics and transponder.
What do you need to do?
- Step 1. Open your existing key, take out the electronics and immobilizer and place them in the new folding key. Close the housing.
- Step 2. Transfer the key blade (the part that goes into your ignition) to the new folding key. You can also choose to have the key sharpened (copied) by a locksmith. Close the housing.
- Step 3. That's all - you now have a properly working folding key again.
