For Volkswagen suitable 2-button folding key housing (without key blade) to replace your damaged or defective folding key housing. The key is suitable for various Volkswagen models, among others. This is an aftermarket product and is not an original Volkswagen part.
Is technical knowledge necessary?
No that is not necessary, you can have a properly functioning clap key housing again without technical knowledge.
What do you need to do?
Step 1. Open your existing key, take out the electronics, battery and immobilizer and place them in the new push button part. Close the housing.
Step 2. Transfer the key blade (the part that goes into your ignition) to the new pushbutton part.
Step 3. That's all, you now have a properly functioning flip key housing again.

So happy2023-05-05The little ring on my key that I use to attach it to my keychain had fallen off. My overly neurotic brain can’t handle that, so I looked for a case with a ring like that but just couldn’t find one. I stopped by the key shop, and they wanted to charge me 80 euros to replace that key—that was a bit too expensive for me. Then I came across this site and saw that they sold separate cases. I was happy because I didn’t have to pay 80 euros just to get a new ring on it. I ordered the thing, and three days later it was on my doorstep. Of course, I was afraid I’d mess up the whole chip, but after reading the instructions for a bit, I mustered up the courage. After 5 minutes, the key was back together, and with my autistic brain, I could finally hang it back on my keychain—totally happy with it. The only downside is that the bottom casing doesn’t fit perfectly with the original top. But hey, you’ve gotta be a little autistic about something.
