Yeah, an instructional video like that would be nice…2024-08-16The new key cover arrived quickly. The instructional videos make it look easy—and yes, with the right tools, it’s probably easier. The locking pin can’t be removed without a key vise like the one in the video (to transfer the key’s teeth); you really need to have a small nail or pin like that on hand…Popping the sensor out with a small screwdriver was also impossible because you couldn’t reach it—there was no space around it. Since I only have one key, which was already taken apart, I called the dealer to ask if they could help me transfer the data since I still need my car. Fortunately, they could. However, they also couldn’t get the sensor out without damaging it, so I decided to put my old key back together and order a new key from the dealer for €140. Transferring only half of the data so the sensor wouldn’t have to be removed didn’t work either, because that leaves a few millimeters of space, so it doesn’t click into place properly.So it all sounds easy, but it absolutely isn’t. What a waste of my €20.
