Description
Mini compatible 2-button key housing with straight key blade (HU92R) to replace your damaged or defective key housing. The key is suitable for Mini Cooper, Mini Cabrio, Mini Clubman and Mini One, among others.
Is technical knowledge necessary?
No that is not necessary, you can have a properly working key housing again without technical knowledge.
What do you need to do?
Step 1. Open your existing key, remove the electronics, battery and immobilizer and place them in the new key housing.
Step 2. Transfer the key blade (the part that goes into your ignition) to the new key housing. You can also choose to have the key sharpened (copied) by a locksmith.
Step 3. That's all, you now have a functioning key housing again.

Doing what they have to do.2023-01-24I ordered two keys and received them within a few days. The materials used for the keys feel cheap but sturdy; I am curious to see how long the plastic and rubber membrane will last. The "old" electronics fit into the folding key housing but lack a "locking" mechanism, so I had to fiddle around with filling the space above the circuit board and battery. That way, I was able to use the remote without pressing the buttons in. With the regular key, the space for the metal part to snap into place is actually too wide, causing it to move when in use. Value for money? I think so, but with the caveats mentioned above.
